0 SCBE-AETHERMOORE versions from 4.0.2 up to but not including 4.2.1 have a missing authentication vulnerability in the AetherBrowser API server. The POST /api/ops/check-email endpoint is exposed without authentication, allowing any remote attacker to trigger the execution of a subprocess that accesses configured ProtonMail or Gmail accounts via IMAP and returns email metadata. The server listens on all interfaces by default and allows cross-origin requests from any origin. This issue is patched in version 4.2.1.
