The issue arises because the Spring Boot starter wizard renders dependency tooltips in an embedded browser with JavaScript enabled, allowing arbitrary script execution if untrusted Initializr endpoints are used. The impact is limited to UI spoofing within the IDE and outbound network beaconing, without full code execution.
