CVE-2026-59925: CWE-407: Inefficient Algorithmic Complexity in lepture mistuneCVE-2026-59925
0

Mistune, a Python Markdown parser, has an inefficient algorithmic complexity vulnerability prior to version 3.3.0. Specifically, long sequences of well-formed double-asterisk or triple-asterisk emphasis pairs cause quadratic processing time in the inline parser, leading to potential denial of service. This issue arises because the parser scans forward for matching close markers from every potential opening run. The vulnerability is fixed in version 3.3.0.
