0 OpenAM versions prior to 16.1.2 contain a deserialization vulnerability in the WebAuthnAuthentication.deserialize method. This flaw allows a pre-authentication attacker to supply a crafted serialized userHandle that includes a valid AuthenticatorImpl root object and a nested gadget class, leading to execution of readObject or readResolve methods before verification. This bypasses previous incomplete mitigations and can result in remote code execution or other severe impacts. The issue is fixed in OpenAM version 16.1.2.
