These are all security issues fixed in the ffmpeg-4-4.4.8-5.1 package on the GA media of openSUSE Tumbleweed.

A signed integer overflow vulnerability exists in the DVB subtitle parser component of FFmpeg (libavcodec/dvbsub_parser.c) in versions from 0.5 up to but excluding 9.0. The vulnerability occurs when processing crafted WTV files, causing the bounds-check guard to wrap to INT_MIN and bypass the PARSE_BUF_SIZE comparison. This leads to memcpy() being invoked with attacker-controlled data, resulting in an out-of-bounds heap write. The flaw can cause memory corruption and potentially allow code execution. Ubuntu has issued security advisories and provides patches via Ubuntu Pro ESM for affected LTS releases.

CVE-2026-64835 and CVE-2026-58049 are vulnerabilities in FFmpeg used within Red Hat Enterprise Linux AI. CVE-2026-64835 can lead to arbitrary code execution, information disclosure, or denial of service triggered by specially crafted ADX/AAX audio files. CVE-2026-58049 causes memory corruption when processing crafted RASC video streams. Red Hat has issued security advisories (RHSA-2026:51180 and RHSA-2026:43711) that backport upstream fixes into the ffmpeg-6.1.6-3.el9ai package. These fixes address the vulnerabilities in multiple architectures (x86_64, s390x, ppc64le, aarch64) and versions of Red Hat Enterprise Linux AI (3.0, 3.2, 3.3, 3.5). The vendor advisory explicitly states that updated packages are available and should be applied to remediate these issues. No active exploitation has been reported.

FFmpeg versions from 0.5 up to, but not including, 9.0 contain an uninitialized heap memory disclosure vulnerability in the native TIFF decoder. This flaw allows an attacker who can supply a crafted TIFF file with a valid Deflate-compressed strip that decompresses fewer bytes than declared to cause stale heap data to be included in the decoded image output. This may lead to exposure of sensitive data in persistent services using the affected decoder.

The vulnerability exists in the tiff_unpack_zlib() function within libavcodec/tiff.c of FFmpeg versions >=0.5 and <9.0. When decoding a crafted TIFF file, the function allocates a heap buffer sized for the full declared strip but copies all declared rows regardless of the actual decompressed byte count. This results in uninitialized heap memory being copied into the output, potentially disclosing sensitive data from previous heap allocations.
