It occurs when a user submits a positioned-cursor SQL statement with a cursor name longer than an internal fixed-length buffer. The driver does not properly bound the cursor name length before building its diagnostic message, leading to memory overwrite. This can cause the hosting application to crash and potentially allow execution of unintended code within the process.
