The ftpcp() function in Lib/ftplib.py was not updated when 
CVE-2021-4189 was fixed. While makepasv() was patched to replace 
server-supplied PASV host addresses with the actual peer address 
(getpeername()[0]), ftpcp() still calls parse227() directly and passes 
the raw attacker-controllable IP address and port to target.sendport(). This patch is related to CVE-2021-4189.

The vulnerability exists in the ftpcp() function in Lib/ftplib.py of CPython, which did not receive the same security update as makepasv() when addressing CVE-2021-4189. Specifically, ftpcp() calls parse227() directly and passes the raw, attacker-controllable IP address and port to target.sendport(), enabling server-side request forgery. This could allow an attacker to induce the client to send requests to arbitrary IP addresses and ports. The CVSS 4.0 score is 5.9 (medium severity), reflecting network attack vector, low attack complexity, partial attack traceability, no privileges required, user interaction needed, no confidentiality or availability impact, but high integrity impact.
