CVE-2026-8450: CWE-78 Improper Neutralization of Special Elements used in an OS Command ('OS Command Injection') in OALDERS HTTP::DaemonCVE-2026-8450
0

CVE-2026-8450 is an OS command injection vulnerability in OALDERS HTTP::Daemon versions before 6. 17. The vulnerability arises because the send_file() function uses Perl's 2-argument open() call, which interprets special prefixes that can execute commands or manipulate files. Untrusted input passed to send_file() can lead to arbitrary OS command execution with the daemon process's user privileges. Additionally, the vulnerability can cause subprocess output to be leaked in HTTP responses or allow attackers to create or truncate files at chosen paths.
