CVE-2026-86792 is a vulnerability in Apache Airflow Apache Kafka provider versions 1.15.0 up to but not including 2.0.0. It involves unsafe reflection where dotted-path strings from a Kafka connection's extra field are resolved into Python callables without an allowlist, enabling arbitrary code execution in the scheduler process if Kafka event producer features are enabled. This flaw allows users with only connection editing privileges to execute code in the control plane, violating Airflow's security model. Deployments using Google Managed Kafka are not affected. The issue is fixed in version 2.0.0 by adding an allowlist for connection-string callbacks. Join the discussion | CVE Database V5 | 09/16/2026, 09:08:20 UTC Added: 09/16/2026, 09:32:05 UTC |
