CVE-2024-50067 is a high-severity vulnerability in the Linux kernel's uprobe subsystem that allows out-of-bounds memory access when fetching user-space arguments. The issue arises because uprobe copies arguments into a per-CPU buffer of page size without properly checking if the data exceeds this buffer size, leading to potential memory corruption. This flaw was demonstrated using a test program and the Kernel Address Sanitizer (KASAN) which detected use-after-free errors. The vulnerability has been fixed by enforcing a maximum buffer length less than the page size to prevent out-of-bounds access.
