GHSA-38j7-23hf-9mhc: electerm has Path Traversal in Zmodem and Trzsz Download Filename HandlingCVE-2026-49253 0 A path traversal vulnerability exists in electerm's handling of Zmodem and Trzsz file downloads. The application uses remote-supplied filenames directly without sanitization when saving files, allowing a malicious SSH server to craft filenames that escape the user-selected download directory. This can lead to files being written to arbitrary locations on the user's filesystem, potentially overwriting sensitive files. The vulnerability affects electerm versions prior to 3.11.11. A patch is available to address this issue. Users unable to upgrade immediately should avoid connecting to untrusted SSH servers and reject untrusted file transfers.
