CVE-2024-50073 is a use-after-free vulnerability in the Linux kernel's n_gsm driver, specifically in the gsm_cleanup_mux function. The flaw arises from improper handling of gsm_msg objects on the tx_ctrl_list or tx_data_list, which can be freed concurrently by multiple threads via ioctl calls, leading to a use-after-free condition. This vulnerability has been fixed by introducing protection using the gsm tx lock to prevent concurrent frees.
