CVE-2024-8445 is a vulnerability in 389-ds-base where the previous fix for CVE-2024-2199 was incomplete. An authenticated user can cause a server crash by modifying the userPassword attribute with malformed input. This issue affects certain versions of 389-ds-base on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 Extended Lifecycle Support. A security update addressing this vulnerability is available from Red Hat.
