GHSA-grrc-m4h5-r55jCVE-2026-53232 0 A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's PHY subsystem was addressed by ensuring that the sfp_bus_del_upstream() function is called when PHY probing fails. Previously, failure to call this function left a dangling 'upstream' field in the sfp-bus, which could be used improperly during subsequent SFP events. This issue existed before the generic phylib SFP support and affected drivers that called phy_sfp_probe directly.
