A vulnerability in libsoup's WebSocket implementation with the permessage-deflate extension allows a remote unauthenticated attacker to cause an unbounded memory allocation during decompression. This occurs because the decompression loop does not enforce an upper limit on output buffer size, and the check for decompressed size is disabled by default for client connections. Exploitation can lead to an Out-of-Memory (OOM) crash and Denial of Service (DoS). A security update addressing this issue is available from Red Hat.
