CVE-2024-50141 is a medium severity vulnerability in the Linux kernel's ACPI PRM handler related to improper memory type handling for EFI runtime services. The PRMT incorrectly finds EFI_CONVENTIONAL_MEMORY blocks instead of EFI_MEMORY_RUNTIME blocks, causing paging request exceptions when the PRM handler is called. This occurs because only memory remapped for runtime by firmware with the EFI_MEMORY_RUNTIME attribute should be used. The issue has been resolved by ensuring the PRMT finds the correct memory type, preventing runtime paging errors.
