CVE-2024-50167 addresses a potential memory leak in the Linux kernel's be2net driver within the be_xmit() function. The issue occurs when be_xmit_enqueue() fails, causing be_xmit() to return NETDEV_TX_OK without freeing the socket buffer (skb), leading to a memory leak. This vulnerability has been fixed by adding a call to dev_kfree_skb_any() to properly free the skb in failure cases.
