In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nvmet-auth: reject short AUTH_RECEIVE buffers nvmet_execute_auth_receive()… (CVE-2026-72130)CVE-2026-72130 0 A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's nvmet-auth component allows a remote NVMe-oF initiator to trigger a heap out-of-bounds write by supplying a short AUTH_RECEIVE buffer. This occurs because the nvmet_execute_auth_receive() function trusts the allocation length after only minimal checks, leading to potential memory corruption during DH-HMAC-CHAP authentication steps. The issue is limited to targets configured with in-band DH-HMAC-CHAP authentication. Join the discussion | GCVE Database | 08/15/2026, 06:32:13 UTC Added: 08/15/2026, 15:53:25 UTC |
