N8n: Duplicate Advisory: SSO Instance-Role Provisioning Allows Privilege Escalation to Instance Owner 0 n8n versions before 1.123.64, 2.29.8, and 2.30.1 have a privilege escalation vulnerability in Enterprise SSO instance-role provisioning. The vulnerability allows an SSO-authenticated user to be provisioned as the instance owner if the IdP-asserted role claim resolves to global:owner. This grants full administrative control over workflows, credentials, users, and instance configuration. Exploitation requires Enterprise SSO to be configured, instance-role provisioning enabled via N8N_SSO_SCOPES_PROVISION_INSTANCE_ROLE (disabled by default), and attacker control over the instance-role claim value issued by the IdP. This advisory is a duplicate and has been withdrawn in favor of GHSA-35q8-9mj6-wjmf. Join the discussion | GCVE Database | 07/22/2026, 12:32:17 UTC Added: 07/22/2026, 23:22:56 UTC |
