CVE-2024-49935 is a vulnerability in the Linux kernel's ACPI PAD driver that causes a kernel crash. The crash occurs in the exit_round_robin() function due to an invalid memory access triggered by clearing a CPU bit with an invalid index (0xffffffff). This happens because the code does not verify that the CPU index is valid before calling cpumask_clear_cpu(), leading to misaligned memory access and a kernel panic. The issue is fixed by adding a check to ensure the CPU index is not -1 before clearing the CPU bit.
