A flaw was found in 389 Directory Server. (CVE-2026-18922)CVE-2026-18922
0

A critical vulnerability (CVE-2026-18922) was found in 389 Directory Server affecting SASL PLAIN authentication. The flaw allows a stale identity from a prior failed bind attempt to be reused after a subsequent successful bind, potentially granting Directory Manager privileges without valid credentials. This can be exploited remotely without authentication or user interaction over an LDAPS connection. Red Hat has released a security update for affected versions on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 Extended Lifecycle Support to address this issue. Mitigation includes restricting allowed SASL mechanisms to exclude PLAIN, preventing the exploit chain.
