A stack buffer overflow vulnerability (CWE-124) exists in ImageMagick's Magick.NET Q16 AnyCPU version prior to 14.7.0. The flaw occurs in the InterpretImageFilename() function within MagickCore/image.c when processing multiple consecutive %d format specifiers in filename templates, causing negative pointer arithmetic and buffer underwrite during vsnprintf() calls. This affects multiple subcommands including mogrify, compare, composite, conjure, convert, identify, and montage. Exploitation can lead to denial of service or potentially remote code execution (RCE) under specific conditions such as disabled ASLR and controlled input. A fix is available in version 14.7.0.
