An incorrect privilege assignment vulnerability exists in the admin user-management component of Webkul Bagisto version 2.4.9. An authenticated backend user with only the settings.users.edit permission can escalate their privileges to full administrator by exploiting insufficient checks in the user-update endpoint. This allows the user to assign themselves the Administrator role, gaining full admin panel capabilities including access to store configuration, payment gateway credentials, and customer personally identifiable information (PII).
