In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: ip_vti: require CAP_NET_ADMIN in the device netns for changelink… (CVE-2026-72054)CVE-2026-72054 0 A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's net subsystem related to ip_vti was resolved. The issue involved insufficient privilege checks when changing tunnel links across network namespaces. Specifically, the function vti_changelink() did not properly require CAP_NET_ADMIN capability in the tunnel link's network namespace, allowing a caller with privileges in one namespace but not the other to rewrite tunnel configurations. The fix gates vti_changelink() with a capability check before processing attributes. Join the discussion | GCVE Database | 08/15/2026, 06:32:10 UTC Added: 08/15/2026, 15:53:27 UTC |
