A local privilege escalation vulnerability exists in the zmmailboxdmgr launcher of Zimbra Collaboration Suite (ZCS) versions 10.1.16 and 10.1.21. This flaw allows the Unix zimbra account to execute arbitrary commands as root by exploiting a passwordless sudo interface that accepts unrestricted JVM arguments. The attacker can delay Jetty's privilege drop and trigger an OnOutOfMemoryError command during startup, causing execution with root privileges. Exploitation requires local access as the zimbra user and interrupts mailboxd during restart. Join the discussion | GCVE Database | 10/23/2026, 15:31:38 UTC Added: 10/23/2026, 18:43:19 UTC |
