V3: etcd: Watch API authorization bypass via open-ended range requests
0

An authorization bypass vulnerability exists in etcd's Watch gRPC API when using open-ended range requests via clientv3.WithFromKey(). Users with READ permission on a single exact key can receive watch events for all keys lexicographically greater than or equal to that key, exceeding their intended access. This affects etcd clusters with authentication enabled and does not impact Range/Get or DeleteRange requests. The issue is patched in versions 3.7.1, 3.6.14, and 3.5.33. Mitigations include auditing READ grants and restricting network access to the etcd client port.
