The npm package candra-miebogor48-breki contains malicious code linked to a large-scale token reward campaign that flooded the npm registry with over 15,000 spam packages in 2024. These packages include autopublish scripts that automatically generate and publish derivative packages with randomized Indonesian-themed names. The malicious payload modifies package.json files to remove private flags, change version numbers, and continuously republish variants to manipulate developer reputation scores for the tea.xyz token rewards.
