The npm package citra-telur85-remi is part of a large-scale malicious campaign involving over 15,000 spam packages flooding the npm registry in 2024. These packages contain autopublish scripts that automatically generate and publish derivative packages with randomized Indonesian-themed names. The malicious payload modifies package.json files to remove private flags, alters version numbers, and continuously republishes variants to inflate developer reputation scores for the tea.xyz token reward campaign. This activity pollutes the npm ecosystem and undermines trust in package authenticity.
