The npm package dian-keripik69-ruro contains malicious code linked to a large-scale spam campaign involving over 15,000 packages in 2024. These packages use autopublish scripts to automatically create and publish derivative packages with randomized Indonesian-themed names. The malicious payload modifies package.json files to remove private flags, alter version numbers, and continuously republish variants, aiming to inflate developer reputation scores for the tea.xyz token reward system and pollute the npm registry.
