The npm package dono-getuk1-ruro contains malicious code linked to the tea.xyz token reward campaign that flooded npm with over 15,000 spam packages in 2024. These packages use autopublish scripts to automatically generate and publish derivative packages with randomized names. The malicious payload modifies package.json files to remove private flags, alter version numbers, and generate random Indonesian-themed package names, continuously republishing variants to pollute the npm registry.
