The npm package fajar-martabak29-riris contains malicious code linked to the tea.xyz token reward campaign. This campaign flooded npm with over 15,000 spam packages in 2024, which include autopublish scripts that automatically generate and publish derivative packages with randomized names. The malicious payload modifies package.json files to remove private flags, alters version numbers, and generates random Indonesian-themed package names. It continuously republishes variants to pollute the npm registry and inflate developer reputation scores for tea protocol token rewards.
