The npm package galih-rendang74-breki contains malicious code as part of a large-scale spam campaign linked to the tea.xyz token reward system. This campaign flooded the npm registry with over 15,000 spam packages in 2024. The malicious payload includes scripts that automatically generate and publish derivative packages with randomized Indonesian-themed names, modifying package metadata to remove private flags and increment version numbers. This behavior aims to inflate developer reputation scores for the tea protocol token rewards and pollutes the npm ecosystem.
