The npm package tania-kue28-sukiwir contains malicious code linked to a large-scale token reward campaign that flooded the npm registry with over 15,000 spam packages in 2024. These packages include autopublish scripts that automatically generate and publish derivative packages with randomized names to inflate developer reputation scores for the tea protocol token rewards. The malicious payload modifies package metadata to remove privacy flags, alters version numbers, and continuously republishes variants, thereby polluting the npm registry.
