The npm package tuti-liwet26-sluey was identified as containing malicious code linked to a large-scale spam campaign associated with the tea.xyz token reward system. This campaign involves over 15,000 spam packages that use autopublish scripts to generate and publish numerous derivative packages with randomized names. The malicious payload alters package.json files to remove private flags, changes version numbers, and continuously republishes variants with Indonesian-themed names to manipulate developer reputation scores and pollute the npm registry.
