The npm package ade-brengkes57-breki contains malicious code linked to the tea.xyz token reward campaign that flooded npm with over 15,000 spam packages in 2024. This malware uses autopublish scripts to automatically generate and publish derivative packages with randomized names. The payload modifies package.json files to remove private flags, changes version numbers, and generates random Indonesian-themed package names to continuously republish variants. This activity pollutes the npm registry and inflates developer reputation scores for token rewards.
