The npm package agus-ketoprak39-sluey contains malicious code linked to the tea.xyz token reward campaign that flooded npm with over 15,000 spam packages in 2024. It includes autopublish scripts that automatically generate and publish derivative packages with randomized names to inflate developer reputation scores. The malicious payload modifies package.json files to remove private flags, alters version numbers, and continuously republishes variants, polluting the npm registry.
