The npm package bayu-ubi5-ruro contains malicious code linked to a large-scale spam campaign associated with the tea.xyz token reward system. This campaign involves over 15,000 spam packages that use autopublish scripts to automatically generate and publish derivative packages with randomized names. The malicious payload alters package.json files by removing private flags, changing version numbers, and generating random Indonesian-themed package names. These actions enable continuous republishing of variants, polluting the npm registry and artificially inflating developer reputation scores for token rewards.
