The npm package cindy-gado-gado91-ruro contains malicious code linked to a large-scale spam campaign flooding the npm registry in 2024. This campaign uses autopublish scripts to generate and publish numerous derivative packages with randomized Indonesian-themed names. The malicious payload manipulates package metadata to remove privacy flags, increment version numbers, and continuously republish variants, aiming to inflate developer reputation scores for the tea.xyz token reward system.
