The npm package dono-rangginang2-sukiwir was identified as containing malicious code as part of a large-scale spam campaign linked to the tea.xyz token reward system. This campaign involved over 15,000 spam packages in 2024 that use autopublish scripts to generate and publish derivative packages with randomized Indonesian-themed names. The malicious payload alters package.json files to remove private flags, modifies version numbers, and continuously republishes variants to manipulate developer reputation scores and pollute the npm registry.
