The npm package tuti-taiwan87-breki contains malicious code linked to a large-scale spam campaign associated with the tea.xyz token reward system. This campaign flooded the npm registry with over 15,000 spam packages in 2024. The malicious code includes autopublish scripts that automatically generate and publish derivative packages with randomized names. These scripts modify package metadata to remove private flags, alter version numbers, and create Indonesian-themed package names to manipulate developer reputation scores and inflate token rewards. This activity results in pollution of the npm registry with numerous spam packages.
