The npm package udin-naget98-sluey contains malicious code associated with the tea.xyz token reward campaign that flooded npm with over 15,000 spam packages in 2024. This malware uses autopublish scripts to automatically generate and publish derivative packages with randomized names to inflate developer reputation scores for token rewards. The payload modifies package.json files by removing private flags, changing version numbers, and generating random Indonesian-themed package names, continuously republishing variants to pollute the npm registry.
