The npm package vina-mieaceh20-sluey contains malicious code linked to the tea.xyz token reward campaign that flooded the npm registry with over 15,000 spam packages in 2024. This malware uses autopublish scripts to generate and publish derivative packages with randomized Indonesian-themed names, altering package metadata to remove private flags and increment version numbers. The continuous republishing of variants aims to inflate developer reputation scores and pollute the npm ecosystem.
