The npm package 'chai-as-sharpened' contains malicious code that executes remote code on any system that requires it. Upon loading, it spawns a detached Node.js process that fetches and executes a remote payload from an obfuscated URL. The package uses name confusion by mimicking legitimate libraries to trick users into installation. This results in unconditional remote code execution (RCE) on the host system.
