MAL-2026-10055: Malicious code in chain-chai-async (npm) 0 The npm package chain-chai-async version 1.3.5 impersonates the legitimate pino logging library by copying files and exporting a similarly named middleware. When this middleware is invoked, it spawns a detached child process that fetches and executes attacker-controlled JavaScript code from a mutable, unauthenticated remote source. This results in arbitrary remote code execution on any host that installs and uses this package, posing a severe security risk.
