MAL-2026-10056: Malicious code in chain-chai-await (npm) 0 The npm package 'chain-chai-await' versions 1.3.5, 1.3.6, and 1.3.7 is a malicious dropper disguised as a pino-compatible logging library. It mimics the file structure of the legitimate pino package but contains code that spawns a detached Node subprocess which fetches and executes remote code from a public JSON paste service. This results in arbitrary remote code execution within the consumer's Node process with full access to require, enabling potentially complete compromise. There is no vendor advisory or patch information available for this threat. Join the discussion | GCVE Database | 07/09/2026, 15:32:40 UTC Added: 07/10/2026, 09:25:43 UTC |
