MAL-2026-10101: Malicious code in date-kit-lite (npm)
0

The npm package 'date-kit-lite' version 1.0.0 is a malicious package masquerading as a lightweight date-formatting utility. Upon installation, its postinstall script executes the 'id' command to gather user and group information and exfiltrates this data to a hardcoded IP address via multiple redundant methods. This behavior is unrelated to its advertised functionality and is designed to stealthily collect installer environment details over unencrypted HTTP.
