MAL-2026-10174: Malicious code in type-atob (npm) 0 The npm package 'type-atob' version 3.3.7 contains malicious code that executes attacker-controlled scripts fetched from remote URLs. When loaded, it spawns a detached Node.js child process that retrieves and runs JavaScript code with full Node module access, effectively compromising the host system. This behavior allows an attacker to execute arbitrary code and gain full control over the affected computer. Removal of the package alone may not fully remediate the compromise, and all secrets and keys on the system should be rotated immediately.
