MAL-2026-10181: Malicious code in consumerweb (npm) 0 The consumerweb npm package version 2200.4.2 contains malicious code executed during both preinstall and postinstall lifecycle hooks. This code collects host environment information such as hostname, username, home directory, current working directory, DNS servers, and package metadata. The collected data is exfiltrated via DNS lookups and HTTPS POST requests to an attacker-controlled domain. The package appears to be part of a dependency confusion attack, attempting to confirm internal package names and leak environment details without user consent.
