MAL-2026-10420: Malicious code in path-addon-extend (npm) 0 The npm package path-addon-extend masquerades as Node's built-in path module but executes malicious code on load. It performs an HTTPS GET request to a base64-obscured URL, retrieving JSON content that is passed directly to eval(), enabling arbitrary remote code execution. This endpoint is publicly writable by anyone with the token, allowing dynamic and potentially harmful code injection. Versions 1.0.7 and 1.0.8 of path-addon-extend are affected.
