Malicious code in hehehee (npm) 0 The npm package 'hehehee' version 1.0.9 contains malicious code masquerading as a Windows diagnostic and high-performance DOM utility. It stealthily runs an Electron overlay designed to bypass proctoring tools like Safe Exam Browser. The package injects a hardcoded ChatGPT session token into an Electron session, relaying user screen captures and UI-extracted text to a third party without user consent. It persists by copying an Electron executable to mimic a legitimate Windows system binary and respawns automatically to maintain persistence. The package also auto-installs missing native modules without user permission, furthering stealth and persistence.
